The vision was made clear back in 2002 when our mother set her hopes high in fostering a dance studio that would include her three children Jill, Jacob and Christine. Through her dream, vision, and financial support we have built our brand and have made Wasco, CA the home of ‘Planet Dance’. For the past 20 years, “Planet Dance” has served the Wasco and Shafter communities and its surrounding areas.
We have touched the lives and taught dance to over 1000 students and instilled passion for the art form we love so much. Thank you for allowing us to teach your children year after year, it has been a pleasure!
Jacob Hernandez
Mr. Jacob is 41 years of age with over 20 years of dance, teaching and choreographing experience. Jacob began as a tap dancer at the age of 6 and trained for 7 years in Delano under the direction of Darlene Ziegler which is was formerly “Darlene’s Dance Workshop.” Jacob began instructing here at our studio in 2002. Over the years he has continued to teach and train in the arts of tap and hip hop. Gaining more confidence and training under the direction of our very own Vickie Limos as a senior member in the hip hop crew at Studio 661. Mr. Jacob has also been the Team Galaxy Director since 2014 and has led the team to countless regional and national awards. As well as countless scholarships. Mr. Jacob is also a hairstylist and has been in his craft for 19 years. His work has landed in various National and international publications, as well as all social media outlets. Over the course of his career he has styled thousands of brides. Over the past 5 years Mr. Jacob has found himself in the Director’s chair overseeing the entire studio and its operations. In the summer of 2022 the studio received a special recognition from the Mayor of Wasco and Hernandez was also given a key to the city. As we enter Season 21 we are excited to continue to bring the art of dance to our community as well as the surrounding communities.
Vickie Limos
Vickie Limos has been dancing for over 35 years and teaching dance for 28 years. She has trained in the styles of ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, and hip hop. A large part of her industry training was done in LA and Orange County where she was a dancer for Disneyland, part of the award winning hip hop team Kaba Modern, danced for Nike, the Bravo Channel, and danced alongside the Black Eyed Peas. Vickie also runs her own dance studio in Delano, Ca, and is heading into her 14th year of operation. In her years of training, her passion for dance just keeps growing stronger, and she wants to share her love for dance to all who wants to learn instilling them with confidence, discipline, and happiness.
VeronicaGarcia
Veronica has been a part of Planet Dance for 17 years. She currently teaches PA 1, 2, and 3 ballet classes, PA 3 jazz, and level 1 hip hop. Veronica also choreographs for Team Galaxy, the studios competition team. In 2017 a routine she co-choreographed earned the studio one of its National Championship titles. Veronica has choreographed solos, duets/trios, and small group routines which have earned overall placements regionally and nationally along with regional championship titles. Veronica has also choreographed talent routines for local pageant contestants. Veronica loves the art of dance and is excited to share her passion with the kids. Veronica uses her experience as a former kindergarten teacher to engage the kids in a fun, structured environment where they learn the beginning fundamentals of dance. Veronica lives in Shafter with her husband Danny and two children, Isabella and Ian.
Isabella Garcia
Isabella Garcia is 19 Years old and has been dancing for over 16 years at Planet dance studio. She graduated from Wasco High and was the 2020 Miss Wasco Rose Queen. Isabella is trained in the arts of ballet, Pointe ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop. Isabella was on Team Galaxy from 2013-2019. She started assisting ballet and Jazz classes at the age of 10-17 years old. Isabella is currently a Ballet instructor, and Competition coach/choreographer. She was awarded a “Choreographer’s Award” at Starpower competition for our Competitive team group routine. Isabella has produced winning solos and group routines throughout the past competition season. One of her soloist was awarded MVA runner up and was given the opportunity to dance alongside Ava Max for National Velocity dance convention.
Ashley Servin
Planet Dance has had Ashley as a member for nine years. When she was nine years old, she began taking dance lessons, initially in hip hop. The following year, she joined the competition team while learning tap, hip-hop, jazz, and ballet. She worked as an assistant in many dance classes, including jazz, hip hop, and PA ballet. Additionally, she created choreography for the competition team, gala, and recital. She even won a StarPower choreography award with Miss Izzy! Miss Ashley loves establishing a joyful environment for children who share her enthusiasm for dance. As she pursues her degree at the University of California, Santa Cruz, Miss Ashley is currently not present in the studio. She is pursuing a double major in cognitive science and psychology.
